India vs England Third test at Lord's (Social Media)

Sports News: The Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy has kept everyone waiting for the third test between the two powerhouses at Lord's. With the series leveled at 1-1, both teams would look to grab the all-important lead. India has a history at Lord's, but not a great one. With just three wins in the 19 tests played at the iconic venue, India would certainly want to improve the record. However, the visitor's recent performances at the Home of Cricket have been very good. They've won two out of the last three matches played here. Coming off a sensational win at Edgbaston, the high-spirited India will look to take a step ahead of Bazball.

India at Lord's

The Indian team has not been one of the best to perform at Lord's. Since 1932, the team has lost 12 out of 19 test matches, with four draws and three wins. India's first victory at Lord's came under the captaincy of MS Dhoni. Ishant Sharma's fiery spell of 7/74 led India to a 95-run victory. The next victory followed in 2018, when India won by an innings, and then in 2021, which saw India emerge victorious by 151 runs. Both of these victories came under Virat Kohli's leadership.

Top-notch excitement for Lords

The two teams have already played some scintillating cricket in the previous two matches. Excitement cannot go higher as the two teams are equally placed, with a win each. The iconic venue of Lord's promises a lot of help for the fast bowlers early on in the innings. Shubman Gill would look to lead his team to another famous victory, which would place them in an even better position in the highly anticipated test series.

Expected Changes for Both Sides

Gill confirmed the return of Jasprit Bumrah for the third test, who would look to spice things up a bit on a fiery Lord's surface. This probably means that the tall, fast bowler Prasidh Krishna will make way for Bumrah. As far as England is concerned, their bowling got smashed for over 1000 runs. Expect changes in their line-up as well. Jofra Archer is likely to return, with Gus Atkinson already added to the squad ahead of the test.
